Aamir’s Peepli Live impresses international audience

For the star who bagged Padma Bhushan few days ago, this recognition indeed comes as an add-on luck…

An Aamir Khan production, ‘Peepli Live’ garnered high acclaims recently at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, US.

Our Perfectionist, who is very elated about it, penned his joy on his blog, “Super reaction right through the film, and huge ovation at the end. Audience really seemed to love it, ‘Peepli Live’ was screened on 24th Jan at the Egyptian Theatre, Park City.

Directed by Anusha Rizvi, ‘Peepli Live’ is a satirical story based on the rural life of India. The film has Raghuvir Yadav in the lead along with debutant actors from Madhya Pradesh.

About his experience at the festival Aamir further wrote, “I was really keen to see the reaction here at Sundance as I wanted to get a sense of how a non-Indian audience reacts to the film. Ninety percent of the audience was non-Indian. I am now even more certain that this film has the potential to engage a world audience.”

“The big challenge, when we release the film worldwide, will be to get them (audiences) in. It doesn't have any stars and is in a language that they don't understand.” We wish you all the luck Aamir!
